Q&A:

I must say, you have quite the name! Do your teammates have any nicknames for you?

Yeeaaah, I get that a lot. I mostly just get called by my first name, if I get in trouble then Toni—and sometimes Chuck—says my full name. Kyle and Benny like t’call me Triple-T sometimes!

Is Toni truly that uninvolved in your practices as you—and multiple other sources—have stated?

It’s kind of a mixed bag. He’ll usually stay cooped up in his lab for a good chunk’a time until we get super close to our next game, then he’ll bust down the doors and show us his latest gimmick that’ll ‘help us win’, but 9 times outta 10 it barely works. Only other times he acknowledges us is when he needs us to do somethin’.

Does he ever directly approach you for help?

Yeah, actually! I got a weird knack for fixing things up, and I think he’s caught onto that—and I’m probably the only guy allowed to touch his tech stuff. Stuff like computers, machinery, whatever weird robots he whips up, I think it’s super cool to rearrange some wires, screw in a couple of nuts and bolts, press some buttons and see what happens. It’s a little hard to explain what I’m doing—like I know what I’m doing, otherwise Toni would’a kicked me outta his lab like he does with Rocky & John J. Johnson Jr. , but it’s easier to see in action, y’know?

Speaking of your other teammates, are there any particular players you like to hang out with in and out of your stadium?

Oh, totally! Kyle, Rocky, and I love to practice around ’n hang around. Rocky and I have kinda always bounced off each other well, but I used to butt heads with Kyle aalllll the time. I’m glad he’s stuck around though. I really like hanging out with everyone, honestly.

Are there any players outside of your team that you like to hang out with?

Dang, hm. I really wanna try to get to know some of the other teams, I dunno what’s stopping me, actually. Anytime we’ve played against Orion, they’ve been super chill. Their goalkeeper—Phinus, I think is his last name—talked with me bout computers for a good while after one of our games. It was awesome. Th’players on Barka are cool too.

How do you prepare for a game?

If I’m not at the stadium with Chuck, I got my own set of training DVDs I like to watch and follow along to. They’re kinda old—older than me, I think—but I think they’re super useful, plus the music they use is super catchy.

And what do you do after a game?

Depends. If we win, the guys and I like to go to this arcade bar. Great food, great people, awesome retro games. Wish Chuck would join us more, guy hardly unwinds, but it’s nice when he does tag along, y’know?
